About Charmaine Rees, clinical psychologist

I'm a Wellington-based clinical psychologist offering thoughtful, evidence-based therapy for adults, adolescents and children.

People come to me with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment difficulties or big life changes. I bring a calm, compassionate and collaborative approach, working alongside you so you understand yourself better and can make changes that last.

My clinical experience covers adult mental health, intellectual disability and rehabilitation settings, and I regularly work with people facing complex emotional and psychological challenges. Therapy is always tailored to your needs, strengths and goals.

Before training as a psychologist, I held senior roles in government and emergency services. That background gave me a strong understanding of stress, trauma and resilience, and of what high-pressure work can do to your mental wellbeing.

I'm committed to culturally responsive practice and to a safe, respectful space where you can feel heard, supported and empowered. I value genuine connection and will work at your pace, with care, curiosity and respect.

If you're thinking about therapy, I'd welcome the chance to meet you where you are and walk alongside you.
